About
Meet Sandy Welton
Sandy Welton
My background is change management, originally as a business consultant in Sydney. I am a relative newcomer to the VET world, entering it in 2003. This is where I experienced the poor quality of training resources available for purchase and, out of sheer frustration, began to write them for myself. As time went by, I made my resources available for purchase.
Over the years I have built a national reputation designing learning and assessment resources that an RTO can rely on for quality, compliance and practicality. My areas of expertise are business studies and training.
I deliver accredited training in TAE Cert IV and Diploma and the Diploma of Leadership and Management for International Teacher Training Academy (ITTA). I also provide consultancy services and run corporate workshops in my home town, Toowoomba.

As a practising trainer, I know the importance of working with good training resources that:
- match the trainees’ needs
- create learning pathways that are dynamic, streamlined and enjoyable
- achieve cognitive outcomes
- build the requisite skills
- promote affective learning
- relate to real work
As a practising assessor, I know the pitfalls of substandard assessment resources. Assessment resources need to:
- be clear and precise, rather than vague and broad
- guide the candidate
- guide the assessor
- meet all of the unit requirements
- pass audit
My client RTOs tell me that they are seeking:
- cost effective resources
- competency completion rates
- satisfied clients
- compliance
I talk to RTOs about their client needs and their methods of training and assessment. I believe in forming a relationship with RTOs so that I can work with them to achieve compliance and the best outcomes for their clients.
